Police believe a fire that destroyed a Greek takeaway in Upper Street last night was suspicious and are treating it as arson.
Holy Pitta, opposite Islington Green, went up in flames in the early hours of this morning. It has remained taped off today with forensics officers combing the burnt-out shop for evidence.
The takeaway was closed at the time of the blaze, but medics treated a man and a woman at the scene.
Officers were called just before 2.10am and Scotland Yard say an arson investigation has been launched. No arrests have been made.
