A knife and a cosh were among the items found by police in a search of the Highbury Estate.

The blade was hidden in bushes near Harefield House and officers also found a black cosh behind Pondfield House.

In addition a car CD player, which is believed to have been stolen, was recovered outside Tudor Court.

Mildmay Safer Neighbourhoods team carried out the weapon sweep as part of their drive to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

PCSO Michael Cole said: “These weapons were potentially hidden to be used for criminal activity. We will continue to carry out regular weapon sweeps to reduce crime and reassure the community.”
