Injured Arsenal duo Jack Wilshere and Carl Jenkinson turned out for charity when they could not take to the Emirates Stadium pitch.
The pair were unfit to face Fulham but had no problem shaking collection buckets around the ground for Save the Children.
The club was hosting a fundraising drive for the charity, which also saw players and staff hand over a day’s wages to help the fight against child poverty.
Manager Arsene Wenger said: “It’s something that we are delighted to do. In England, the charity work is exceptional and we are happy to contribute to that. We want to show our heart on the pitch and off it.”
Arsenal captain Robin van Persie added: “The whole squad was given a presentation by Save the Children recently, who explained what they are doing all over the world. It’s unbelievable and we really appreciate their work. We all realise we can’t save the world, but we can all do our little bit.”
