Crossrail 2 could be coming to Angel Station

Commuters have been invited to comment on plans for Crossrail 2 at Angel Station.

Crossrail 2 would link Surrey and Hertfordshire via central London destinations, with a station proposed at Angel.

Transport for London (TfL) and Network Rail are holding public drop-in sessions on Monday and Tuesday to discuss the route and plans. The earliest it would open is 2030.

TfL and Network Rail said the scheme would ease congestion at the station, which is on the Northern Line. To build it would require the demolition of four buildings, including the Royal Bank of Scotland site next to Angel in Upper Street.

Monday and Tuesday’s drop-ins run from noon-8pm at Central Piazza, in Parkfield Street.

It is part of the Crossrail 2 public consultation, which runs until January 8.
