So Islington Council may pass a by-law with regard to cycling on the pavements. Why should we believe that this will be enforced any more than the one they passed with regard to fining the drivers of buses who left their engines idling on the bus stands?
Having rejoiced at this at the time, imagine the disappointment of being told by the principal environmental health officer of the noise team that it is not enforceable.
We suffer from both of these nuisances, living on the one way system at the north end of Camden Road but there is always an excuse as to why nothing is done.
Public money and council workers time however is being spent on preparing and passing these toothless laws. Couldn’t the money be better spent on things that have a chance of being effective? – S. Huggett, Camden Road, N7.
