Cyclist, 52, in critical condition after being hit by lorry on Old Street

A 52-year-old cyclist remained in critical condition this morning after she was hit by a lorry yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to Old Street’s junction with Golden Lane just after 3.30pm.

The 23-year-old driver of the lorry was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was bailed until early December.

The woman’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
