An all-girl hip hop dance crew are hoping to clinch the top prize in the final of TV talent show Got to Dance.
An all-girl hip hop dance crew is hoping to win TV talent show Got to Dance this weekend.
The 12-strong troupe Boadicea, which includes Rhimes Lecointe and Kendra Horsbugh from Holloway, Nadia Sohawon from Islington and Jen Bailey-Rae from Highbury, have so far taken the Sky One competition by storm with their street dancing.
They are now in rehearsals for the final at Kensington Olympia on Sunday in front of millions of viewers and celebrity judges Ashley Banjo, founder of dance group Diversity, former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and tap dancer and actor Adam Garcia.
Choreographer Rhimes, 26, who lives off Holloway Road and put the crew together 18 months ago, said: “Our dancing is powerful and fierce – hard hitting hip hop street dance that’s friendly too.
“Our final performance takes it up another level from what we have brought to the table so far.”
“The experience has been amazing – we have met so many lovely people and have had so much fun creating performances.”
Rhimes said it would be “out of this world to win” and success would allow them to take productions across the UK and world.
She added: “We love doing it so much we want to show that dancing is a career, not just putting together a little routine.”
