Celebrities are set to grace the first event of a charity set up in the name of Islington teenager Henry Hicks.
Danny Dyer will be among the stars on the night which will see a fashion show followed by live music to raise money for the Henry Hicks Foundation.
The foundation was set up by Henry’s older sister Claudia just months after the 18-year-old was killed on a moped during a police pursuit.
Currently in the process of gaining charity status, the foundation has already raised thousands of pounds for families who have lost their children.
The event on the evening of Friday June 19 at Kentish Town Forum, will see labels like Francesca Marotta, Dropdead and Nico Di Donna grace the catwalk before music from Louis Dunford and DJ Alex P.
Claudia Hicks, 23, said: “Everything we’ve done so far has been funerals and marches, they’ve had loads of people but they’ve all been quite depressing – so we wanted to do something fun.
“So far we’ve been raising money with the charity but we’ve been more focussed on the justice campaign which we want finish before we concentrate on the foundation.
“But if this event sells out we will be able to raise about £65,000 and then we’ll be able to help lots of families.”
Miss Hicks said that there had been no further update from the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) on the complaint against the officers who were pursuing her brother when he died.
In February four officers were handed gross misconduct notices as part of the investigation and a preliminary inquest is set to take place on June 16.
“Models will be coming down the catwalk wearing ‘Justice for Henry’ t-shirts. We wanted to have something for everyone, fashion for the older people and then the DJs on later for the young people.”
Tickets for the event cost £25 and must be bought in advance at henryhicksfoundation.org/events.
