Although entrepreneur Robel Iyassu’s turn on Dragon’s Den didn’t bag him a big name inverstor, the man behind Boun’s Beans was delighted with the public response.

Robel. who supplies hand-roasted coffee to the popular Asmarino Café in Seven Sisters Road was featured on the BBC show on Sunday, as he tried to tame the a panel of business titans including Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden.

Robel, who’s luxury grade coffee beans are roasted in the traditional East African manner, said: “The whole thing’s been really scary, but exciting. We’ve been inundated with orders since the show - particularly after what Peter Jones said about how it tasted.”

On TV, Jones said: “I’ve not drunk coffee quite as good as this before.”

Robel was unable to secure investment, but it did wonders for his exposure. However, the increased interest in Boun Beans is both a blessing and curse.

Robel added: “We’ve got a massive backlog – because we roast our coffee bespoke we’ve had to work really hard to keep up.”
