A drunk man collapsed in the middle of the street at a busy junction and had to be stretchered off.

The intoxicated man fell over while crossing the road where Blackstock Road and Seven Sisters Road meet, in Finsbury Park, at around 1pm on Saturday (June 11).

Cars had to drive around him as paramedics checked him over, before he was stretchered into the ambulance and taken to hospital.

Witness Ben Bloom, 24, of nearby Somerfield Road, said: “He looked like he wasn’t too bad, but they still cut his clothes off and stretchered him away. He must have been absolutely battered to just lie there while all his clothes were cut off – they were even giving him oxygen!”

Police said the man had not suffered any serious injuries.
