Two year 11 girls have scored top marks by achieving A* grades in their GCSE maths exams six months early.
Christina Sukljevic and Sevilay Ozturk, students at Islington Arts and Media School, took their exams in November.
Sevilay, who now hopes to study maths at A level, said: “This is really fantastic because it gets the exams out of the way and gets rid of all the stress.”
Diana Osagie, the school’s headteacher, said: “The girls have really taken on board what we call our academic core. They have just shone in the grades they have achieved.”
The school encourages pupils to take exams early and provides extra tuition from 7.30 in the morning. Over 100 year 10 students take GCSEs early every year.
