A school is celebrating after being rated “good” by education watchdog Ofsted.

Holloway School, in Hilldrop Road, was also noted for some “outstanding” features in a report which came out earlier this month.

The school has almost 800 pupils, a third of whom are eligible for free school meals, and was only given a “satisfactory” rating in its last inspection in 2010.

Headteacher Bob Hamlyn, who was singled out for praise by inspectors, said: “This report supports what we have been saying for a long time now – that Holloway School is a good school.

“I’ve always said that our local area deserves and needs a good community school, and now I’m proud to say that we’ve officially delivered that.”
