A “Tinder-style” app designed to connect working professionals with young people has been backed by Jeremy Corbyn.

The Labour party leader joined more than 200 people at the Business Design Centre in Upper Street on Friday for the launch of the London Village Network.

City and Islington College students have been helping test and promote the app. Young people swipe left or right to pick a professional to give them help and advice based on the skills they have on offer – such as CV writing and interview technique. Any meetings take place in a designated safe place.

Mr Corbyn said: “We need to give young people the opportunities they need so future generations are better off not worse off.

“Sign up to give an hour of your time to let a young person talk to you and gain the benefit of your experience.”
