Youngsters took part in some Olympic-inspired music making in collaboration with art students and musicians.
Pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School, Highgate Hill, Archway, and Christ the King Primary School, Tollington Park, Finsbury Park, enjoyed workshops inspired by the Olympic torch relay at Kings Place in York Way, King’s Cross.
Groups of pupils explored how to visualise music – and their work was then passed on to the next class as its starting point.
They interacted with a musical art installation made up of tubes as part of the project, which was led by musicians from St Martin in the Fields and students from Central Saint Martins.
Anna Rowe, chief executive of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, said: “It was inspiring to see how enthusiastic the children were when engaging with the creative challenges we offered them.”
