A former Blue Peter gardener, an ex-JLS band member and a dinosaur mascot formed an unlikely trio at St Andrew’s Primary School to help students with their tree planting project.
The event, which was organised with Arsenal Double Club and solar power firm Octopus Energy, saw pupils at the Barnsbury school learning about the environment before planting 10 trees in the garden. They were helped by Blue Peter man Chris Collins, singer JP Gill and Arsenal’s faithful mascot Gunnersaurus.
Before last week’s planting the children took part in a discussion about different energy types, the amount of energy we use daily, sustainability and how we could limit our energy usage to further help our environment.
Year 2 class teacher Lucy Courtney-Diggins said: “The event was incredibly exciting for all of the children and they were taught some really valuable information about the environment.”
