A children’s centre had double reason to celebrate at its recent family fun day.
Packington Children’s Centre in St Paul’s Road, Canonbury, was rated ‘‘outstanding’’ in every area by Ofsted inspectors and has recently relocated its family and community services to a new outreach site in Packington Square, Islington.
It held the fun day on August 24 to mark both achievements, with activities including cooking, face painting, storytelling and a teddy tombola.
Islington’s executive member for children and young people, Cllr Richard Watts, said: “Providing excellent care and education from birth – like Packington Children’s Centre does – is essential in helping children in Islington to get the best start in life.
“Congratulations to all the staff who are offering a high quality range of services for local families.” Head of Packington Children’s Centre, Ana Sevilla, said: “I am very proud of the staff team. They are passionate and committed to the work of the centre and this clearly shows in all the work that they do.”
