Famous children’s author Michael Rosen visited pupils to open their school’s brand new library.

Mr Rosen, the former children’s poet laureate, popped into Ashmount Primary School, in Crouch Hill, on September 11 to cut the ribbon on the new facility and lead various workshops with the pupils.

Pana McGee, headteacher at the school, said: “He and the children both thoroughly enjoyed the day.

“Mr Rosen enjoyed the visit so much he tweeted about us.

“It was so nice for them to meet the man who wrote the books we all grew up with.

“And its was great for him to open our library, which is the physical and emotional heart of the school.”
