A primary school is set to be converted into an academy after receiving an “inadequate” rating in its latest Ofsted report.
Clerkenwell Parochial Primary School has been told to take “urgent action” to improve after Monday’s report revealed it had received an “inadequate” rating for “effectiveness of leadership and management”, “personal development, behaviour and welfare” and “early years provision”.
However, the school – which was rated “good” in both “quality of teaching, learning and assessment” and “outcomes for pupils” – has not been placed in special measures.
Inspectors, who visited the school in November, found that leaders had not taken the necessary steps to “keep pupils safe during all school activities”.
Chair of governors Christopher Trundle said: “We have assured parents that all children are safe at the school.
“We are positive about our future and are looking forward to building on our existing track-record of strong teaching and learning in the knowledge that our safeguarding procedures are fit for purpose.”
