Finsbury Park club told to keep it down after booming basslines shake the pavement

A nightclub has been told to keep the noise down after it was accused of playing booming basslines so loud they shook the pavement.
Orleans in Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, will have noise-measuring equipment fitted following a meeting of Islington Council’s licensing committee last Thursday.
Neighbours had complained of music so loud that their bedroom floor was shaking.
A noise officer visited on several occasions – during one visit the venue was full after 4am and music was so loud the “pavement was vibrating underfoot”.
Other conditions include installing new CCTV.
At the same meeting, Afric-Carib, around the corner in Stroud Green Road, had its licensing hours cut and can no longer have people drinking while standing up after noise complaints made by neighbours.
