A new playground at a Upper Holloway primary school was officially opened last week.
Islington Mayor Cllr Jilani Chowdhury was present alongside headteacher Mary Gibson MBE to cut the ribbon at Yerbury Primary School in Foxham Road.
He barely had time to put the scissors down before the schoolchildren were scaling the climbing frame.
The 50,000 project was half-funded by the Islington LEA, which matched any funds that were raised by the school itself.
The Yerbury Home School Association raised the cash needed for the project through a number of events, including an Olympic-themed summer fair, a cake sale and a promises auction and quiz night, which was hosted by former Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock.
