Dozens of people have complained about a pub’s plans to stay open later, screen films and have dancers.

The Four Sisters Pub in Canonbury Lane, Islington, has caused uproar with its proposal, which goes before an Islington Council licensing committee tomorrow night.

Around 23 residents, plus the collective might of the community group the Upper Street Society, have registered objections to the plans because of the noise and disturbance caused by music and people milling around outside the venue.

One person who lives in the area said: “What sort of dancers are we talking about? I can only believe that as a middle aged woman I might not like walking past the venue at certain times when the dancers are working, when the clientele might be outside on the walk way smoking or going a pee up the wall or windows.”
