A Holloway special needs school is looking to the future after holding its first ever careers event.
Staff at the Courtyard, which caters for students between aged 14 to 19 with autism and/or speech and communication difficulties, put on the event to help young people with learning difficulties who find it tough getting employment after school.
A host of businesses and organisations attended on the day including City and Islington College, Islington Council and Chapel hairdressers.
Headteacher Deborah Shepherd said: “The afternoon was a huge success and has ignited a sense of purpose in our pupils. They have ideas and contacts to support them in succeeding in the future. The school will continue to work with the companies and professions that attended, arranging work experience opportunities and apprenticeships in the future.”
