An integrated dance group that gives opportunities to disabled performers is set to come to Islington this month.
Cando2, part of the Candoco youth group, will be performing at the Platform Festival at Hornsey Road Baths, Hornsey Road, Holloway, on July 22 and 23.
The troupe are made up of 11 disabled and able-bodied 15 to 25-years-olds who will perform two contemporary dance acts in the young arts festival.
Rebecca Dawson, general manager of Candoco, said: “Disabled people do experience many barriers that need to be addressed through public policy, however some of these are imposed by people perceiving that certain activities are not accessible to disabled people. This performance will challenge those perceptions, making people re-think what is possible.”
