Diana Award winners from Rotherfield Primary School joined other winners at an “Inspire Day” last week where mentors encouraged and inspired the children.

At the event, which included dance, drama, music and art workshops, former pupil Emily Olden (now at the City of London Academy Islington), received her “Diana anti-bullying champion” award for her peer buddy work at the school. She was given the award by Paralympian rugby player Andy Barrow.

Emily said: “I am very honoured to have this award because while I attended rotherfield priamary school I helped a lot of children through peer buddy and all of my hard work has paid off.”

A total of 10 pupils at the school were honoured with the anti-bullying award, which was announced in July.

Sandy Conduit, communication and enrichment coordinator at the school, said: “The inspiration day was a fantastic event and we are immensely proud that our pupils were invited and extremely proud of Emily who collected her award for her hard work for our successful peer buddy programme.”
