Schoolchildren are celebrating being rated “outstanding” in every category by Ofsted.

William Tyndale Primary School, in Upper Street, Islington, was given the thumbs up by the education watchdog following a rigorous inspection in March in leadership, teaching and results. The inspectors also rated student behaviour as outstanding.

The glowing report comes after a letter from Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, congratulating them on the excellent results of children eligible for Pupil Premium, citing them as one of the top performing schools in the country for boosting the performance of disadvantaged children.

Headteacher Tanya Watson said: “Being rated outstanding is the result of many years’ dedication from staff and governors, children and parents.

“It is a real community result and I want to thank everyone for their support and hard work. I am especially proud of our children whose sense of aspiration and desire to learn make our school the happy and purposeful place it is.”

Becky Crichton-Miller, chairman of governors added: “We are thrilled with this much deserved Ofsted inspection result. At William Tyndale, we are committed to ensuring that every child is given the chance to do the very best they can, no matter where their starting point in life.”
