Pupils’ Christmas spirit alive in Islington

Pupils at Moreland Primary School, in Goswell Road, Finsbury, and Grafton Primary School, in Eburne Road, Holloway, donned festive costumes and performed Nativity plays to their delighted families.

At Moreland Primary, parents packed into the school to watch the children play shepherds, wise men, angels and Mary and Jospeh.

Fiona Maccorquodale, deputy head teacher, said: “A good time was had by all – everyone really enjoyed it. The children did so well singing and delivering their lines. They really got into character and there was plenty of Christmas cheer.”

At Grafton Primary, pupils performed their version of the traditional Christmas tale.

Almost 200 people came to watch the show, and many parents escorted residents from nearby St Anne’s Care Home.
