A racing driver with kids at Laycock Primary School is using his experience on the road to pass safety tips to students.
Branko Kiprovski – who has won competitions in “hill climb” rally car racing around eastern Europe – paid a visit to the school last week to talk about the dangers of crossing the road in congested areas of Islington, such as Upper Street, Seven Sisters Road and Holloway Road.
The team behind him, BK Racing, is looking to hold further sessions around Islington’s schools from September, and Branko feels if the pilot visit is anything to go by there is plenty of interest in road safety from the borough’s youngsters.
“The kids were really focused on what we were saying and seemed to have a lot of interest in the subject, judging by the questions they asked,” he said.
