A flash mob of around 100 people descended on Islington Green at the weekend as part of a campaign to persuade all schools to adopt measures against “honour” based violence, forced marriage and female genital mutilation.
The event, which was organised by the Islington-based charity Right to Know, was attended mainly by young people aged 15-17 who were involved in making campaign materials, choreography, drumming photography, filming and engaging with the public.
They also co-signed a letter to Nicky Morgan, the Secretary of State for Education. A short film is being made about the event.
