TV funnyman and Islington resident Paul Whitehouse took kids through their paces in a University Challenge-style quiz at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

The Fast Show comedian became quizmaster for the day at Young Consumer of the Year, an event organised by the councils Trading Standard’s Team last week.

Comedy legend Mr Whitehouse asked pupils from across Islington questions about consumer rights, money management and citizenship.

Central Foundation Boys’ School, in Gowper Street, Finsbury, claimed top spot, with Mount Carmel school, in Holland Walk, Archway, in second.

Cllr Catherine West, leader of Islington Council, said: “It was impressive to see how much these young people knew about their rights, and congratulations to all who took part. Thanks very much also to Paul Whitehouse for giving up his time to make it a special day.”
