A man in his 80s has died in a house fire in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Firefighters were called to Ripplevale Grove, Barnsbury, just after midnight and brought the man out of the first floor but sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fire, which damaged part of the first floor of the flat, is under investigation.
Crews from Euston, Holloway, Islington and Shoreditch attended and the blaze was brought under control by 1.50am.
