One of the candidates has stepped down from the race to become a St Peter’s Ward councillor on August 11.
Dr Brian Potter, who was standing as an independent, has withdrawn from the by-election triggered by the resignation of councillor Shelley Coupland over benefit irregularities.
The remaining candidates are David Sant (Liberal Democrats), Alice Perry (Labour), Richard Bunting (Conservative), Caroline Allen (Green Party) and Martin Rutherford (Independent).
A hustings for all those standing will be held at the Main Council Chamber, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, Islington on August 10 at 7pm.
The deadline for registering to vote and postal vote applications is tomorrow (July 26). To vote by proxy, an application must be obtained from the Electoral Registration Office before 5pm on August 3. Call 020 7527 3110 for more information.
