Revellers can bask in the sunshine on a roof terrace and listen to top DJs – in silence.

The Queen of Hoxton, in Curtain Road, Shoreditch, has opened its rooftop garden for the summer and launches its Headphone Holiday event next weekend.

Party goers don headphones and dance the night away to some of the biggest names in DJland.

First up is Soul 2 Soul’s Jazzie B on June 15, followed by Ashley Beedle on July 13 and Norman Jay in August. Jay’s Good Times stage has been a mainstay of the Notting Hill Carnival for years.

Beedle said: “A memorable summer holiday for me was being in Barbados in 1981 chilling at my grandmother’s house with my beatbox listening to The Brothers Johnson, The Real Thing and watching the local kids doing some badass dancing to it. I’m going to have to dig it out for headphone holiday.”

The roof opens daily from 12noon with a barbecue and the Djs play from 2 to 7pm.

Tickets are from £7, call 0207 422 0958.
