New app to keep Islington’s streets clean

Dog mess, graffiti, fly-tipping and dirty streets can be reported on new phone software
A new app has been launched to help battle dog mess, fly-tipping and dirty streets.
The software, developed by Islington Council, means people can report sightings of filth which will then be hopefully cleared by a street cleaner.
It’s hoped the app will make it easier to report problems, including overflowing bins and graffiti.
Cllr Claudia Webbe, Islington Council’s executive member for environment and transport, said: “In line with residents’ priorities, we are innovating to meet their expectations, tackling problems that cause an environmental eyesore and in doing so, making our town centres and neighbourhoods more pleasant places to live.”
The Clean Islington app is available for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone via app stores.
