Games, tours, talks and mini workshops will be open to the public as part of a two-day steam train festival at King’s Cross station.
Steam Extravaganza, an indoor free family weekend exploring the golden age of steam power, rolls into King’s Cross on the weekend of October 11 and 12.
The festival, which takes place at The Crossing inside the Granary Building, will plunge visitors into an interactive and visual experience – with the last chance to see two classic model railways on display.
There will also be a chance to chat with experts, as well as a brass band and food and drink inspired by times past.
The extravaganza is inspired by the roaring engines of King’s Cross, which have been serving the north since 1852, and the location as a historic transport hub, humming with passengers and trains for 162 years.
