Children and families experienced the thrill of the great outdoors on Saturday despite living in London’s least green borough.
Freightliners Farm, in Sheringham Road, Holloway, held a weekend of camping, food growing and crafts for Islington families.
The weather held as youngsters tried bread-making, salad harvesting and tent raising.
Liz McAllister, chief executive of the farm, said: “It went really well and was a lovely weekend for everybody. We had a lot of positive feedback.
“I think it was a special thing for families to get behind the scenes of the farm, as it were. Living in central London, they can’t go camping all the time.”
