More than a dozen GCSE media students recently got the chance to interview Bafta awarding-winning director Asif Kapadia in person.
Pupils from the Islington Arts and Media School spoke to the renowned film-maker for their online magazine, which goes live in mid-July.
Mr Kapadia, who grew up in Hackney and is currently filming a documentary on Amy Winehouse, won the Best British Film Bafta for his hit The Warrior in 2003.
Pupil Ceylan Zevkli, 15, took part in the interview on June 9.
She said: “He was inspiring. And knowing that he grew up locally made the talk even more inspiring because you don’t expect people locally to grow up and do such great things.”
