THE SEASON of goodwill has stretched into January at a pub offering a belated Christmas lunch for pensioners free of charge.
Islington Age Concern has joined forces with the Slug and Lettuce in Muswell Hill Broadway, Muswell Hill, which will open its doors to the elderly on Wednesday, January 26.
From 12pm guests will be treated to a specially prepared meal of wild mushroom risotto and grilled salmon plus a complimentary drink.
Nathan Louis, manager of the Slug and Lettuce, said: “I’m really pleased we are in the position to be able to offer something like this and we are delighted to support Age Concern.
“It’s so great that in this consumer driven age we can give something to people who really appreciate it, without thought of getting something in return.
“I hope it’ll be enjoyable for everyone involved and we can really make a difference, however small, to someone’s life.”
Age Concern works to improve quality of life for older people.
