Nestled away in the heart of the City, the Honourable Artillery Club (HAC) opened its doors to the public for a look at life in the army.

Based at Finsbury Barracks on City Road, the HAC held its annual evening event of exciting wide-ranging displays and equipment demonstrations for a seventh time.

Spectacles included a thrilling parachute jump into the barracks by the RAF Falcon Display Team, who leapt from a Chinook helicopter.

Captain Tom Cardwell, Regimental Operations Support Officer, said: “The evening is all about community and employer engagement for all Reserve and Regular units in the London area. We’ve had a fantastic turnout, and a lot of support from other Reservist units. Everyone seems to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”

Families were also kept well entertained by the helicopters that had been brought in specifically for the event.

People were able to have a look inside a Chinook and an Apache helicopters, the same kind as Prince Harry piloted in Afghanistan.

In addition, to mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War One, spectators got to witness a re-enactment from the Great War which commemorated the first HAC soldiers, 1,000 of whom were sent to the Western Front in September 1914.
