Smurfs, clowns, knights in armour and even rock and roll legends helped celebrate the German foolish season on Saturday.
A party at the Bavarian Beerhouse, in City Road, saw revellers dress in all manner of costumes to coincide with a huge carnival in the German city of Cologne.
Partygoers enjoyed beer and sausages aplenty as they bopped to Euro dance music.
Paula Psiuk, 22, from east Germany, assistant manager at the beerhall, said: “It was really funny, people were dancing and everyone enjoyed themselves.”
