Dinner at a Finsbury Park supper club this weekend will be made entirely out of food waste.

Charity Food Cycle has drafted in top chef Asma Khan, founder of Soho restaurant Darjeeling Express, to cook up a feast at the Andover Estate community centre on Saturday.

The three-course meal will be made from more than 100kg of surplus food from local supermarkets, with the menu revealed on the day.

All proceeds from the evening will go towards Food Cycle Finsbury Park, which has been dishing out meals using surplus food every Saturday for the last year.

Project leader Chris Sim said he hoped the night would raise awareness of the food waste problem.

“We would also like to highlight that food poverty and social isolation are growing problems in the UK,” he said.

The event starts at 7pm. Tickets start from £15.00 and can be bought on Eventbrite.
