A COMPUTER game developer from Finsbury Park is heading off to America for the Oscars of his industry.
Ricky Haggett, 32 of Upper Tollington Park, is one of the founders of Honeyslug, which develops and produces a variety of games for the web, PC, consoles and iPhone.
One of his games, Hohokum, has been nominated for the Independent Games Festival Excellence in Visual Art award.
Honeyslug, which is based in Kentish Town, is the only British company to be nominated for an award across all the categories.
The awards, which take place in San Francisco on March 2, have been in existence for 11 years and have showcased some of the most successful games played worldwide.
Mr Haggett said: “It is a great honour to be nominated for the award and even more so as Honeyslug is the only British company to make the shortlist.
“Hopefully this will increase recognition for both Hohokum and Honeyslug and be the springboard for future success.”
Hohokum is a game where the gamer plays a mythical snake-like beast, flying around various alien worlds and helping out the people that they come across.
