Finsbury Park Mosque and Muslim Welfare House are holding their annual open days on Sunday – two weeks after terrorist Darren Osborne was sentenced to life in prison for his attack on the community.

As in previous years, the open days are aimed at people of all faiths and backgrounds to promote a greater understanding of Islam.

Hundreds of people turned up to the events last year, including Islington North MP and Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

It’s part of the national “Visit my Mosque” campaign, and mosque chairman Mohammed Kozbar said: “Last year, we had a fantastic event when people visited our centre and enjoyed our exhibition, films and tour in the mosque, as well as henna and graffiti.

“We expect this to happen again this year with more attractive functions to take place, while our volunteers will be distributing a goodie bag including red roses with a message about the importance of neighbourhood relationship.”

It takes place between midday and 6pm.
