Jeremy Corbyn, MP for Islington north, became an honorary milk monitor at a Finsbury Park school to celebrate World School Milk Day on Friday.
The parliamentarian spent the day dishing out milk at Ambler primary School, in Blackstock Road, one of thousands of schools worldwide taking part in the event to raise awareness of the benefits milk can bring.
In the UK, school milk is free for children under five, and subsidised for pupils aged between five and 11.
Mr Corbyn said: “I had a lovely visit to the school and gave the nippers some milk. It was an excellent day and the school is doing really well and has some great facilities.
“Milk is great for kids and gives them the nutrition they need to help their development and their concentration.”
