A fire at an electrical substation behind Holloway Road tube caused the station to close this morning.
More than 30 firefighters tackled the blaze, which is causing severe delays on the Piccadilly line, at about 9am this morning.
Engines from Islington, Holloway, Stoke Newington, and Kentish Town fire stations attended, bringing the fire under control by 10am.
Holloway Road station suspended service at about 9.30am, as the fire caused a local power failure.
Service was resumed at 11am.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Graham Ellis, said: “Firefighters worked hard to bring the fire under control in order to minimise disruption to trains in the area.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade’s fire investigation unit.
