GREAT response shows that lots of people really appreciated the flowers along Holloway Road. It's understandable that the new council now feels it must cut this expense. But couldn't it at least, instead, make a better floral display at the War Memorial on Islington Green? Such a gloomy lot of greenery there at present!
With so many recent deaths in Afghanistan the memorial deserves better - and many people are likely to attend. How wonderful it would be if there could be a withdrawal of British troops from Afghanistan by then! - Angela Sinclair-Loutit, Highbury Hill, N5.
