A fundraising day was held at the Doyle’s Tavern, Caledonian Road, Holloway, on Sunday, for members of the Peel Club for over-55s.
Food, drink, music and a raffle entertained guests who helped raise more than £800 for the Peel Centre in Percy Circus, King’s Cross, which provides meals for pensioners who might not otherwise get out and about.
Dozens of people attended the event, including staff, service users and even the pearly princes of Finsbury and Finsbury Park.
John Hayes, day centre manager, said: “The fun day at Doyle’s Pub was a great success, so far we have raised £845.
“This could not be achieved without the hard work of everyone and people’s generosity.”
