Imams, landlords and residents are up in arms about plans to open a Holloway club until 6am at the weekends.

KC’s, in Holloway Road, will ask the council tonight (Thursday) if they can sell booze until at least 4am on four nights a week.

But 12 people have written in to complain about problems the bar causes, which they claim include violence, drugs and music played so loud it makes the walls of resident’s home shake.

The Imam from a nearby mosque complained that “material left over from drug use and drink bottles” linked to the venue were a danger to children.

The landlord of several flats in Holloway Road said tenants had been kept awake by noise in the early hours.

One residents said: “The walls of our bedroom actually vibrate and we can feel, let alone hear, the music.”

Another claimed that, under previous owners there had been reports of violent incidents. The complainant said: “Given the history of violence... it is difficult to see how the bar fits into the community.”
