It was with absolute dismay that I learned about the Liberal Democrats' approval of the licensing application for an adult gaming centre (as submitted by Frankice Limited) at Junction Road, Archway (previously Emily's Home Shop).

I would have thought that the Lib-Dems understood the difficulties and struggles that Archway is trying to wrestle itself out of. I do not need to tell them of the numerous betting shops and gaming centres that already exist in this area, further blighted by building eyesores and crime, and I am utterly appalled and disappointed that this party's committee has approved this licence. It is absolutely the last thing that Archway needs and if it indeed does get built, we may as well as all give up trying to make our community a better place for all of us.
If this application was made in "leafy" Highgate village, would it have been approved? I think not. Disappointed, and vote lost.
