An Overground user group are angry at transport bosses for failing to tell commuters about a time change for a rush-hour “ghost train”.
The service on the Gospel Oak to Barking line that carries on through to Willesden Junction will now run 15 minutes later from Monday.
It has been in place since 2011 to deal with overcrowding issues on the two-carriage trains, and will now leave Woodgrang Park at 8.14 and arrive at Willesden Junction at 9.09am.
It was meant to be withdrawn altogether when the new four-car electric trains arrived in spring, but with the rollout delayed by four months TfL realised it was still needed. It couldn’t have its old slot back, however, due to a clash with the new timetable on the North London Line.
Most new timetables come in on Sunday, but the Gospel Oak to Barking line times won’t be updated now until the new trains arrive.
Barking to Gospel Oak Rail User Group secretary Glenn Wallis, said, “The Willesden train’s passengers have no idea that from Monday their train is going to start from Barking and run 15 minutes later.
“Initial feedback from Twitter indicates this retiming is going to make many late for work”.
