Greek restaurant wants to open in Farringdon Road, neighbour complains about feral poos

“The best souvlaki in London” could be coming to Clerkenwell.
That’s the bold claim of Shoreditch Greek restaurant GReat, which wants to open a second branch in Farringdon Road, on the former chip shop premises of Fryingdon.
It would be open until 1am every day. However, its plans to sell alcohol could be thwarted after one neighbour made a desperate plea to Islington Council against a booze licence – including the usual complaint of revellers doing feral poos.
“There are numerous restaurants and bars nearby,” the neighbour said, “and often their customers, while intoxicated, cause public nuisance.”
The complaint continued: “This was particularly worse during the festive period. Some residents experienced someone having vomited, urinated or even defecated in some of our front gardens or front doors.”
The council’s lucky licensing sub committee will get to hear all about it at a town hall meeting on Tuesday next week.
